Process of Marriage Certificate Attestation from Kuwait Embassy in India

Middle East Countries have strict immigrating rules that they expect every immigrant should follow while immigrating to these countries. Countries like UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia have placed strict rules when it comes to getting a work permit, residential visa, or spouse visa.

Arab countries don’t allow unmarried couples to live in apartments or houses unless they are married. Therefore, you need to prove your marital status if you are immigrating to Kuwait with your spouse. For that, you need to submit a marriage certificate to get a spouse visa or for obtaining accommodation in Kuwait.

For using the marriage certificate in Kuwait, you need to legalize the document from the country where the document was issued. The attestation of the marriage certificate helps to prove the authenticity of the document abroad. The certificate should be legalized with an official stamp and signature from the state department, Foreign Affairs Ministry, and the embassy of the country you are intending to travel to.

The main process of marriage certificate attestation from India for immigrating to Kuwait is as follows:

Notary and Home attestation: The marriage certificate is first attested from an authorized notary and then it is attested from the concerned state Home department. Without notary attestation, you cannot attest the document from the concerned state Home department.

MEA attestation: The marriage certificate is attested from the Ministry of External Affairs [MEA]. MEA attestation is mandatory for getting the embassy attestation.

Kuwait embassy attestation: After MEA attestation, the marriage certificate is attested from the Kuwait embassy in India.
